1. MANAGEMENT
• Reporting to the Director of Engineering to ensure that company objectives, in regard to engineering or engineering projects are met.
• Accountable for timely supervision of subordinate personnel, ensuring that appropriate training / development standards are achieved.
• Responsible for the general control and supervision of all engineering projects and programs, and the correct delegation of accountability to subordinate personnel.
• Acts as an advisor to plant management in respect to engineering requirements /priorities.
• Keeps the Director of Engineering informed of ongoing activities within engineering, as well as customer expectations.
• Serves as a member of the overall Plant Management Team.
• Leads Engineering Team with focus on customer satisfaction, performance objectives, cost initiatives and future development.
2. QUALITY
• Responsible to ensure that all-new moulds and secondary tooling meets established quality control specifications.
• Responsible to control activities so that all-new parts meet established quality control specifications.
• Supervise and executes submission procedures as per customer requirements. This includes part, secondary-tooling studies, layouts and lab analysis.
• Esnures that technical advice is accurate and current, on behalf of all engineers, while supporting greater production effectiveness and overall productivity.
• Analyzes the quality planning of parts, assemblies’ etc. in conjunction with Quality Department to ensure that all engineering and quality assurance processes and standards are properly completed.
• Executes and assists with Q.C. troubleshooting and problem solving in conjunction with Quality Control and Production departments for new jobs with persistent quality problems.
3. PRODUCTION
• Ensures adequate engineering supervision, so that all tooling and equipment is available to meet scheduled customer and production requirements.
• Advises the production supervisory group on the design, repair delivery etc. status of new tooling and / or equipment.
• Provides input in various machine modifications to improve production efficiencies and quality.
• Prepares quotations for new prototype/ production parts that include tooling and final product selling price maintain file on all parts.
4. MONITORING
• Responsible to ensure that drawings and specification controls, procedures and standards, as per Q.C. manuals, are maintained throughout engineering.
• Esnures the latest engineering changes (specifications, etc.) are readily available for each department.
• Responsible for the maintaining of records of prototype costs and the control of such.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of automotive related management experience.
- Undergraduate degree as a minimum or equivalent experience.
- Recognized Professional Designation a must
- Knowledge of GD & T, DFMEA/PFMEA, APQP
- Strong Knowledge in quoting, capital expenditures and program budgets
Automotive and/or plastics experience preferred.
